About
Hi! My name is Nicholas. I am a highly-trained, multi-instrumental musician. I graduated the New School of Jazz in 2012. I play classical, jazz and pretty much every genre. I make the lessons fun and engaging for all students.
My yoga teaching style is very slow and personal, not a sweaty vinyasa style that most beginners are familiar with (think Yoga to the People). I aim to teach you skills that you can utilize daily at home, with our weekly lesson checking in and building on that. We will work with healing any specific concerns and building an internal physical and mental strength that will go on to serve your daily life.
I have a shared studio space in Greenpoint that we can use for our lessons or I can travel to you. I teach piano, bass, guitar, theory, arranging, ear training, composition and YOGA!
Thanks for you time!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I teach everyone from 4 year olds being introduced to an instrument for the first time to high school students preparing for their college auditions to retired adults re-visiting an instrument from their childhood. I am an expert at taking you from where you are to where you want to be!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have experienced a plethora of excellent teachers in my 25 years of music (I'm 29!). I am a graduate of New School of Jazz and Contemporary Music.
How did you get started teaching?
My parents both have music education companies so it was natural for me to teach. I started piano as a 4 year old and throughout my life with all my experience studying multiple instruments, I have had kind, patient and knowledgeable instructors. I model my teaching style after my own teachers.
