I believe music is the language we all understand. It can unite people from different backgrounds, opinions and ages into the same room to see your favorite band or artist. It transcends all barriers and languages. All cultures and places. I have seen first-hand the confidence it can build in someone, and the transformation in character it can engender. I promise you, nothing feels quite like playing through your first song, writing your first tune, or playing on a stage in front of a live audience for the first time. There is no other rush that can compare. If you've ever thought to yourself "I wish I could play, but you know, my hands could just never quite do it" or "Yeah, I'd love to, but I just can't commit the amount of time to get good enough," I would say to you, I bet you can. I would say, I bet we can get you there together. I am so confident in the teaching style that I have developed over a number of years. My style works with your specific learning style and preferences. I teach in a way that in many respects, reflects how I learned. From playing with many different players and great musicians over a decade's worth of learning, as well as learning theory in traditional and academic environments. Therefore, I do not adhere to one curriculum or teaching style. I believe everyone learns differently, and I teach accordingly.
"Mike's a cool guy. He definitely knows his stuff, and I walk away from every lesson having learned something new. He is just as much a friend, motivator and mentor as he is a teacher. Mike picks you up when you're not feeling so confident in yourself or your playing. He can always make you laugh, too. He's got a great sense of humor!"
- Josh (former guitar student)
"I have been a student of Mike Warren for the past 3 months. I can honestly say I have learned more from him in that time, than I had studying for a year under another teacher.
Mike’s ear for music is second to none. No cookie cutter teaching here. Mike is able to adapt any lesson to fit the learning style of any student. He has phenomenal patience and never gets frustrated. He is professional and personable and always has way of making you laugh and feel good about your ability even when you feel you are never going to learn a difficult riff. He has a teaching plan ready for every lesson and builds upon each lesson in so many different ways that you don’t even realize it until you have reached your goal.
It has always been a dream of mine to learn to play bass guitar. Mike is making that dream come true."
