Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
When working with a new student, I start by finding out what their previous experiences are with training as well as any health issues I need to be aware of. There is normally a conversation that takes place after that which includes what I expect from them as a client and what they expect from me as a trainer. After that the fun begins!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a total of 8 years of football and track under my belt with 3 out of the 8 being on a collegiate level. I have been personal training for 8 years as well as teaching boxing for 5 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
PLEASE READ!!! My prices are as follows
$28 for a 30 minute session
$38 for a 45 minute session
$48 for an hour
EACH price is per person. 45 minute sessions are the most popular. I always recommend one hour sessions to first timers. With first timers, one hour gives me more time to teach as well as get them through a full workout!
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching when I was in high school during off season training from football and track. The passion and drive that I had for athletics pushed me to train harder and train my friends as well. I have now made it my career.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from the ages of 6-60. Some of the individuals were pre-surgery, post surgery, pregnant, and had current injuries.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My advice would be to find an individual who is knowledgeable in the subject that you want to learn. Find someone who is a good fit for you. Also someone who is going to push you towards your goals and hold you accountable. It's about living a healthy lifestyle.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should first think about any health issues that they have because safety is first. Students should think about their time schedules as well as distance and availability. Also ask questions about having the proper equipment.
