Amazing kung fu program! I am challenged each quarter by learning new self defense combos, new forms and they help me grow individually as I achieve my path towards black belt!

My family became involved with the American Martial Arts Institute 10 years ago when my (then) 7 year old son expressed an interest in learning martial arts. AMAI was the only school in our area offering Chinese Martial Arts, and also one of the few martial arts schools that appeared to focus more on the students as individuals, rather than their trophies displayed in the front window.
Over the years, our entire family has participated at some level in the full range of classes that AMAI has to offer - Kung Fu, Tai Chi, Combat Fitness, as well as a variety of seminars focused on specific skills. My son has also been a member of their Leadership team for 6 years; in addition to self defense skills learned through kung fu classes, Leadership class has enhanced both his critical thinking and problem solving ability while enabling him to accumulate the skills he needs to teach martial arts to others.
The instructors are top notch and model the qualities of perseverance, modesty, courtesy, discipline and self control that true martial arts strive to instill. I urge anyone interested in leaning kung fu to give AMAI a try.

While martial arts studios are becoming a dime a dozen, it is now more important than ever to find a school with an impressive lineage and long term teaching goals. Unlike chain operations, AMAI is personal training by the owner and his staff. You leave class feeling accomplished and validated while you focus on your specific martial arts or fitness goals.

I began teaching when a co-worker found out I had studied martial arts my entire life. When asked if I would teach him, I sought the approval of my teacher. From there, my school grew from fellow co-workers. After being frustrated with the banking industry, I took the chance to quite my job to start teaching full time. My full time school began in 1996.
