I teach and stress fundamentals. I use a series of books that act as a guide and let you learn at your pace. I interject my own additional ciricculum to help you execute and learn faster.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

I use the books as a guide. Starting out, you learn how to tune the guitar and all it's basic parts. I will then go over the chromatic scale, and basic notation. Then starting with just the 1st string you will learn the notes on the first 3 frets. Then the 2nd string and so forth until you are play melodies on all 6 strings. This is the precursor to Chords and designed to strengthen your fingers and hand which will make playing chords easier.
