My teaching approach:

Ross Guitar Lessons is a group of professional musicians in Dallas Texas that love to teach Children and Adults guitar lessons, bass lessons, drum lessons and vocal lessons in-home or in our studio. Our approach is to take any musician, at any level, and provide him/her with a complete understanding of the guitar. Our students are known for moving very quickly, and becoming independent players with the skills Ross Guitar Lessons provide.

Modern Rock, Blues, Jazz, Folk, and classical musicians.

We go over the parts of the guitar, and start with a concise, patient, introductory to basic guitar chords.

A guitar lesson with me might entail the following:

Typically, i find out what the student's goals are with guitar. Then i inquire what music they are interested in playing/creating. From that i pull from a large song list that i teach from that will establish the skills necessary in their goal. This approach tends to work better than classical approach because each student learns skills while learning their favorite music.

The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following:

Someone who is dedicated to the instrument, and practices and masters each lesson plan that i assign for the week. If a student does this, he or she will grow as a guitar very exponentially.
