Hello! My name is Jordan and I have over 20 years of experience playing, composing, producing, recording, studying, and improvising music. With more than 10 years of experience teaching music and music technology to people of all ages, I offer personalized lessons that will help you grow as a musician in ways that will excite and motivate you! All ages and skill levels are welcome.

I currently hold both a Bachelor’s degree in music composition from Western Washington University and a Master’s degree in music composition, improvisation, and technology from University of California, Irvine. My time in higher education has included over six years of formal classes and private instruction in music composition, classical guitar, music theory, ear training, analog and digital recording practices, synthesis, MIDI, music programming, electronic music production, and much more. Additionionally, I have over 19 years of experince as a self-taught guitar player in many gigging bands. Outside of teaching private lessons, I also designed and currently teach an online, university intro course in electronic music and technology.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I typically like to start with a free, online video consultation so we so we can get to know each other, discuss your musical goals, and go over logistics. Once I know more about you, what level of experience you currently have, and where you want to go with your learning, we can start lessons that are tailored to be fun and motiviating for you.


Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Online lessons will take place via Skype, Google Meet, FaceTime, and/or Join.Me and requires high-speed internet, a webcam, and a microphone. The webcam and microphone may be external or built-in to your computer, smartphone, or tablet. After the free video consultation, lessons are prepaid at the beginning of each calendar month. For in-home lessons, the cost of travel is reflected in the rates.

Online:

  • 30 mins - $120/month (approx. $30/lesson)

  • 45 mins - $160/month (approx. $40/lesson)

  • 60 mins - $200/month (approx. $50/lesson)

In-Home:

  • 30 mins - $180/month (approx. $45/lesson)

  • 45 mins - $220/month (approx. $55/lesson)

  • 60 mins - $260/month (approx. $65/lesson)
