Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I usually receive phone calls/emails from individuals inquiring about my services, pricing, & availability. I can return phone calls within 24 to 48 hours. It is important for me to talk on the phone with each person to get an idea about what they are precisely looking for. I have many different training package rates for Personal Training & Medical Exercise. I discuss all of that during the phone call. All clients must schedule a 1.5 hour fitness assessment screening. This allows me to find out an individual's baseline fitness level. The cost is $ 300.00. I will also let the person know what to wear to the assessment.I accept checks, cash & credit cards. If credit cards are the source of payment a 3.5% + 30 cent fee is added to the total training fee.

How did you get started teaching?
Started teaching group exercise and strength training 30 years ago and have been hooked on it since then. I don't think of what I do as a job. I have a genuine love for what I get to do. Fitness and healthcare go hand in hand . If you don't take care of your health when you have it , you will be dealing with health problems down the road. Live proactive!! Not reactive!
What types of students have you worked with?
All.. Kids to infinity..
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I have them everyday. my motto is " if a client can leave each training session feeling a little bit better than when they entered the studio, then I'm going in the right direction."
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Ask questions about the trainer!!!! Find out policies, procedures, expectations, background, references. A good trainer should be able to answer questions without hesitation. It is after all about the client.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Am I Committed to the process of change? Time commitment , am I willing to do exercise outside of scheduled training sessions? What types of workouts will be programmed ? Modifications and or progressions for exercises given. What are the responsibilities of the client? Food journaling? Mind-body connection? Water intake per day? Food intake? Hours of sleep per night? Am I patient with myself and my road to feeling better while finding what types of fitness works for me?
