About this pro

My focus is on creating lessons tailored to YOU - your body, your skill level, and your goals. I want you to love the movement experience and I make sure we do it safely so you can keep moving for the rest of your life. My philosophy is this: we have one body - why not take care of and feel GREAT in it now? If you've always wanted to learn to dance, learn now! If you want to be stronger or more flexible, now's the time! I'm a certified yoga teacher and I have my bachelor's degree in dance. I've been moving and grooving for many years and have danced with dancers from all over the world. My dance specialties are ballet, creative dance, and social dance (partner dancing). My husband and I love to dance together and we are award winning American ballroom dancers both locally and out of state. In yoga, I teach mostly Vinyasa and Yin with an emphasis on core building and flexibility. Contact me to see how movement can change your life!

I love seeing the joy in people's faces as they learn to dance. Nothing makes me happier than when a couple I'm working with says "we never thought we could dance, but now we can't wait to show off our new dance moves at our wedding!"

I've found that learning how to move boosts people's confidence & self-esteem (plus all the really awesome health benefits!). Any part I can play in helping people find this confidence & increased health is a special privilege.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

During the first few minutes of our first lesson I'll get to know you and your goals so that I can tailor everything I'm teaching to your needs. I'll ask you to fill out a waiver and go over the terms of my services. From there, we'll start moving! Expect to have a great time and to want to come back. At the end of the lesson, we'll make a game plan and schedule future lessons.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have my bachelor's degree in Dance. My coursework included anatomy, conditioning and injury prevention, kinesiology, several teaching methods courses, choreography, technical training, and performance. As a yoga instructor, I am 200-hr certified and have additional certifications in chair and restorative yoga.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

Private lessons (one person or one couple) are $60 for 45 minutes or $70 for 1 hour. Please contact me for group pricing or for special events.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

A good dancer is not always a good dance instructor. I recommend that you choose someone who is a trained teacher, not just a trained dancer. Additionally, check that the person you are considering knows the style that you want to learn. You may have found an amazing professional ballet dancer, but that won't do you any good if you want to learn salsa!
