I am an accessible hatha yoga studio that believes in keeping the yoga in the practice. We are a great beginners studio. The style is more about the "work in" than the "workout" by incorporating more than just asana (poses) in our practice. The breath being the cornerstone of our practice. Shanti practice is a slower and more mindful one. I will incorporate breath, mantra (repeated words), mudra(hand positions), positive affirmation, movement and meditation. We may not get everything in on a one time session but through a regularly scheduled practice I can teach you to have your own beautiful practice over time.
What I like about Shanti Yoga is that the classes are tailored to your personal abilitiy and needs. I also find the meditations to be very insightful. I highly recommend Shanti Yoga
Sharon has the highest respect for each individuals journey. I’ve lost a lot of movement and flexibility due to an illness. She did not allow those issues to stop me from finding a way to move forward. I’m forever grateful.
I typically like to have a 15 minute phone discussion prior to our first meeting to discuss what the clients goals are. Then our first session we do some ROM (range of motion testing), and then move into a yoga practice.
I am a 500ryt and continue my education every year. For my continued education I have chosen to broaden my knowledge in yoga for cancer, trauma, anxiety, and special needs.
