Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Understanding each client and their specific needs is key. I train people differently based on their own specific goals, physical abilities and motivating factors.
When it comes to boxing I believe a strong foundation must be established or the house will fall.
Footwork and proper stance is key to learning proper punching and defensive technique.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a certified personal trainer and train with a 3 time world champion boxer. I guess I can say I know a thing or two.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Class packages available but prices are per session and may vary
How did you get started teaching?
I moved to Italy and found it tough to find work. While training one day I helped a guy out at the gym. He had been struggling with his jab. After a few minutes with him he told me "I've never had anyone explain that to me in that way. You should charge people", and so it began lol.
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with all kinds of people: kids, middle aged people, fighters, cheerleaders, people with parkisons disease, Ms. Florida and a few pro athletes.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently set a difficult fat loss goal and achieved it. The gym is easy, putting work into dieting is hard.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Tip 1: Do one session and evaluate your trainer. There is a connection that has to be made to where you understand that the trainer cares about you and not just the money.
Tip 2: Stop waiting. Do it now. You will never be "fit enough" to start. Training never gets easier but you get stronger!
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
None, ask away.
