About this pro

We specialize in adapting the practice of Yoga to the individual as opposed to forcing the Individual to the practice. We specialize in The Art of Yoga as a Self transformational life tool, whether the practice is more Restorative/therpeutically based or Dynamic. The Art of self practice being the Ultimate potential goal.

Bio: In over two decades of uninterrupted practice and study, Timo has amassed over 10,000 hours of traditional training. Within these two decades, he has maintained a Multi-Disciplinary, simultaneous study of the Classical systems of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga (Up to the 4th series), the advanced Therapeutics of Iyenger Yoga, Martial Arts and the Essence of Traditional Zen Buddhism.

Timo,   re- connected with Yoga after many years of competitive sports. As well, Timo also spent 25 years “on his feet”, as a professionally trained chef, these two elements were the driving forces that led him to explore Yoga. It is here, that he found the “non –competitive mind set” of Yoga most antithetical and relieving to both his athletic and culinary career. Having healed from many “Sports Injuries” of his own, he is sensitive to the student’s individual needs and well versed in the application of Yoga asana as a potential healing modality.

His initiation and exposure to Yoga came at the age of 4 by his father, who maintained regular practice and continues to this day .He considers his Father, now 90 years of age his 1st teacher.

His training includes Anatomy, Psycho-Physiology.Kinesiology.Bio-Dynamics and Neurology as well as Social Economics, Linguistics, classical Vedic Studies and Sanskrit. This training also includes the healing arts of Deep Tissue Massage, Cranial –Sacral, and Reiki therapies.  He is also a professionally trained chef and teaches how to feed the body through raw, superfoods, Vegetarian, Vegan, Macro-Biotic and Ayurveda Based Nutritional Sciences and traditional plant herbology and permaculture technologies.

Timo was the founder of Yoga Pada Yoga School in Portland, Oregon, where he trained practitioners and teachers for 12 Years.

He has studied w some of the world’s leading Traditional Yoga Teachers in both the Ashtanga Vinyasa and Iyenger Yoga and Zen Buddhist Traditions. He is a long-time assistant To Tias and Surya Littles Prajna Teacher Training program in Santa Fe New Mexico. He was also an “assistant Choreographer" in the Practice Principles and Sequencing in Peter Sterios, Gravity and Grace Yoga D.V.D.

Timo just returned from his 4th, 9 month teaching tour into Europe where he lives, part time, and teaches Yoga to all ages from Kids yoga to more senior ages w therapeutic needs and all ages in between.

His approach to classes is detailed alignment and the exploration into the progressive levels of Yoga as Self Transformation. This includes, but is not limited to,, deep Yogic concentration, articulated breath control, the purpose of “alignment” on the physical level, and modifications of the practice to meet the individual’s needs, in order for each student to develop an organic stable base in which one can explore the deeper psycho-physiology in which to grow and explore a sustainable life time practice.

.His love of sharing the traditional, Patanjali 8 limbed essence of the Yoga Tradition to all levels, whether to beginners, intermediate or those more seasoned, “Runs Deep”, and emphasizes the importance of the “Parampara” element of the Yoga Tradition. Parampara is the direct guidance of the teacher to discover our inner teacher, and the importance of having a personal teacher(s) for the lifetime of our practice and how this can play such a crucial role, in which to facilitate the student’s approach to Yoga as a self-exploration and transformation.

“Teach as the practice applies to the individual, as opposed to adapting the individual to the practice”
