About
Great listener, over ten years of experience as a pro athlete, and 15 years of experience teaching sports and fitness as a sailing coach, martial arts instructor, yoga and pilates teacher. I co-design training plans with my students based on their unique needs, and build in flexibility to adjust them based on how the classes go and the feedback I receive.
Creating routines that are targeted and yield measurable results already in the short term. I love connecting with my students and guiding them to bring out their best through the physical practice we build together.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Listening is key to developing a program that addresses everything a client wants to tackle. Whether for weight loss, increasing flexibility, or building muscle mass, I am a big believer in building a practice around the student, including their experience and what they enjoy doing. If they don't enjoy it, there is less chance they will diligently stick to the plan, which undermines result
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a former pre-Olympic sailor, and have been a pro-athlete for almost 10 years before retiring in 2015. I have over 10 years of experience teaching fitness, including sailing, martial arts, Yoga and Pilates.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
First time special: $75/session
The first session includes a complimentary 30-minute consultation.
Duration varies based on physical fitness level and how the student feels. I go above and beyond to help my clients achieve their goals and feel great about our sessions, so I include extra time for stretching and following up on how the practice feels, and how we should adjust it.
Package pricing depends on commute time/expense. I only work with clients located within 3 miles from East Cambridge.
How did you get started teaching?
As a pre-Olympic athlete, my body was under a lot of stress, so I sought out soothing practices such as Yoga and Pilates.
After a couple of months of practicing, I couldn't believe how amazing my body felt, and how much it calmed my mind. All the inbalances were stretched out, and I reinforced muscles that had been neglected, which empowered me to be a better athlete. From there, I made it my mission to bring Yoga and Pilates to the world.
Later, I learned the importance of having a trainer that truly listens in depth to people's concerns, and guides them on how to train effectively, avoiding unhealthy muscle movement patterns, so I decided to become a personal trainer.
What types of students have you worked with?
The bulk of my experience has been working with busy professionals strapped for time, where creating an efficient workout plan was the top priority.
I've worked with many types of students: athletes, office workers, and elderly students, both male and female.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The day that my 71-year-old client held a plank for a minute and a half! I was so proud of her, because she had been training so hard, and I got to see the results of all the effort we put into building up to that point.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
It's really important that you connect with your teacher/trainer as a human. Follow your gut feeling, and don't be afraid to say no to the person who doesn't feel right- a little bit like online dating :)
A good trainer will ask in-depth questions about your training history, injuries, stress levels, nutrition, and work/lifestyle situation. It's impossible to discern physical training from your emotional state. Everything going on in our lives affects the way our training impacts the body.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Have I tried working on the same goal before? (ie weight loss, increasing flexibility) Who did you work with, and for how long?
How motivated to I feel? Am I a disciplined person that can combine sessions with a trainer with home workouts prescribed by a trainer?
