The Thompson’s truly care about their students. They are the best around and I wouldn’t hesitate to enroll my children here again and again.

    Frequently asked questions

I have several options. For adults I can do one on one self-defense lessons or personal training. I also offer traditional martial art classes for children and group kickboxing classes for adults. With any of my programs the process is very simple. The first class is always free. That way it gives you a chance to see if we are a good fit.

I have been a martial artist since 1984 and involved with personal training since 1989.

For adult kickboxing the price is $50 per month. Personal training has several packages ranging from $30-$75.

I started my martial art journey in 1984 and in my 1988 graduating yearbook I had two goals. Join the Marine Corps then open up a martial arts studio. I followed through with both of them.

I have worked with two-year-old children as well as seven-year-old adults. Students come to me for a variety of reasons. Adults are typically looking to improve their physical and mental fitness. In addition to fitness they would like to be able to defend themselves in a self-defense situation.

In addition to martial arts I am an avid runner. Over the past several years I have ran over 30 marathons and really enjoy the Expos. I also like watching the Little League World Series. We were really happy to see Louisiana win the World Series this year.

When hiring an instructor it is very important that your personalities click. In addition to likability they need to have a solid background. If a person says they are a self-defense instructor they should have years of real world experience. They should also be able to read Your bodies abilities. They should work to build you up and make you confident about yourself. You should watch the person teaching self-defense and see if they would be able to use it in a real situation. They should also be physically fit if they are teaching fitness. I always say it is a hell no or hell yes when it comes to your trainer. You are paying money and should not settle for average.

What is your background? How many years have you been doing it? Why should I pick you? Is your self-defense practical on the street?  Why is your work out better than other workouts? Can you schedule me when it’s convenient?
