About

I’m a yoga nerd so it’s important to me to incorporate all aspects of yoga into a yoga practice and not just focus on getting into your perfect version of a pose.

While I create intelligent, well-rounded and balanced classes that incorporate all parts of the body I also include mindfulness techniques, breathing exercises and inspirational bits of yoga history and philosophy into all of my classes.

Please reach out to me if you would like a copy of my yoga resume to learn more about what I can offer you!

It is my goal to help bring balance back into this world by helping individuals feel more centered and balanced everyday!

By instructing students to mindfully move their bodies through space on the measure of their breath they are able to practice consciously connecting to themselves physically, mentally and even emotionally. This is such a beautiful and powerful thing and this is exactly why I do what I do!!

Frequently asked questions

I have a form that I ask all new students to complete so that I can get a better idea of where their experience lies, what they are looking to gain from their yoga practice and if they have any injuries or special interests/ requests.

I like to consistently get feedback from my all of my students, new an old, to make sure they are growing in the ways they looking for and so that I can continue in my personal growth as a yoga instructor.

I obtained my RYT 200 in Oct 2018 from the intensive Megan Rader Yoga School based out of Kula Yoga studio in Grand Rapids through All You Can Yoga.

I am currently working to obtain my RPYT (Prental Certificaiton) from Elise Bowerman through Sweet Mama Yoga based out of Pontiac.

My standard pricing is $75/ hour for private, individualized instruction.

I do offer a special if you and a friend want to take private lessons together!  The combined rate for 2 students is $120/ hour.

I am a nurturer by nature.  After earning a Visual Arts degree and then being an Accountant for nearly four years I realized I was not creating the change I wanted to see in the world so I decided to make a career change to change that!

I want to help people feel more balanced and centered and yoga is an excellent way to do this!  Yoga gave me a way to be creative and it helped me feel so much after a long day at the office.  Today I love sharing my knowledge of yoga with my students and watching them grow in their physical and mental practice.

I have instructed students of various ages, (ranging from 5-75) and experience.  Some of my students practice very regularly and others do not have a consistent pracitce but still enjoy the immense benefits of a yoga class.

I have also worked with students who have injuries and students who are pregnant.

I recently attended a Breathwork workshop with Sam Kalawart at Kula Yoga Studio.  It was truly incredible.  Sam guided the class in a specialized breathing technique that increased the oxygen levels in our bodies.  Throughout this guided meditation we practiced the withdrawal of our visual senses with the use of blindfolds. This experience allowed us to more deeply connect to ourselves and our inner knowing in a very powerful and (to me) a very surprising way!

I would advice a student to think about why they are an ideal candidate for personalized instruction.  Do they like the freedom of yoga on their schedule or are they looking for classes that are meticulously tailored to meet their personal needs and wants?

Everyone comes to yoga for a different combination of reasons.   Knowing why you’re coming to the mat in the first place can help you get the most out of your classes because I can use a of yoga style to fit your unique needs and wants on your timeline!

I would suggest that students think about what they want to gain from their long-term yoga practice.  When someone knows where they want to be physically, mentally and emotionally in six months I can get a better idea of what I need to do to help them get there!

I think it is best for students to also put some thought into how much time they are truly able to invest into their yoga practice.  While it would be great if we could all do two hours of yoga every day that’s just not possible for most of us, physically or because we have other responsibilities and interests.  Being real with ourselves, and those around us, allows us to more effectively and more quickly succeed in our endeavors!
