About this pro

Private yoga coaching – online and in person – is my jam. I specialize in managing back pain and stress, however, I am here to serve your needs, so we will work together to create a long term private yoga program that meets you where you are now, and puts you on the path to achieving your wellness goals.

Having a diverse background, I can accommodate nearly any requirement or interest. That could mean a 90 minute session of yoga nidra (a deep state of meditation translated as “yogic sleep”), unraveling your spine utilizing restorative poses, a fast paced vinyasa work out, or a combination of all three. And if all that sounded like elvish to you, don’t worry, you’re still in the right place – Simply reach out to me now and you will thank yourself later.

Private, one-on-one yoga diverges from group classes in a number of ways, most notably our ability to communicate with each other and to respond to feedback in real time. Also, attending group classes on a long-term basis can be challenging to do and doesn’t provide a structure for advancement, whereas developing a private yoga practice with me ensures accountability over time and a framework to make consistent progress towards your goals. Other benefits include:

  • Receive personalized instruction that is tailored specifically to you, enabling you to progress more effectively and efficiently toward your wellness goals
  • Know that you are seen, heard, and understood; I hold no expectations or judgements toward you and your practice
  • Have the full attention of a caring professional who can ensure your practice is done safely and mindfully
  • Enjoy developing a practice at a time and location that is most convenient for you, whether that’s in your home or online
  • Deepen your experience through my unique incorporation of energy work, yoga nidra, soothing adjustments, and breathing excercises
  • Get your questions and concerns addressed with email and text support between sessions

Tessa is a joy to work with! She is warm and comforting. At 42, I feared my flexibility and strength were long gone. She proved that with easy progression and proper form, I could become stronger and more flexible. I highly recommend trapeze yoga with Tessa. I also highly recommend a reiki session with her! Her gentle calming approach to pain relief and recovery is amazing. I feel renewed when leaving her studio! Tessa is AMAZING!!!

Tessa provided a great platform to learn yoga poses and meditation. I loved her teaching style. She is one of those instructors that expanded my consciousness! I highly recommend experiencing her instruction.

I found Tessa on here doing a random search and I’m so glad she was my first result. I had never done yoga before, and after 8 sessions I have all the basics down and more. And I know I’m going to be sticking with it now because of the great experience I’ve had. Top three things that I like about Tessa and her approach: 1) She worked with me on my specific goals (she knows a lot and could have gone in some different directions, but chose things that she thought would pertain to me specifically and she was spot on). 2) Her patience. 3) Her kindness.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
  1. Schedule your informational phone call. We will get to know each other a little bit, answer any questions you may have, talk about the pricing format and our schedules, and make sure we are a good fit.
  2. Set up your complimentary Discovery Session. This is usually a 30 minute private yoga session where you can get a sample of what it’s like to work one on one with me.
  3. Book your package. I typically work with long term clients, as that is the best way to see and feel real results, and usually ask for a minimum commitment of 8 sessions.
  4. Enjoy knowing that you are taking steps to improve your life.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Over 500 hours of formal yoga teacher training

Certified in Yoga Nidra

Certified in Yoga Trapeze

Certified in Yin Yoga

Reiki Level 2

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

I prefer to work with long term clients, as that is the best way to see and feel real results. Therefore, I typically request a minimum commitment from you of an 8 session pack.

How did you get started teaching?

A Wisconsin native and global traveler, Yoga found me many years ago via an online 30 day fitness challenge and has been a daily habit since. As the practice continually deepens, so has my desire to learn more about all aspects of yoga and to share this as a private yoga instructor. I have completed a 200 hour Ayurvedic based yoga teacher training, ShivaShakti and Hilary Jackendoff's Yoga Nidra trainings, Yoga Body’s Yoga Trapeze certification, a 30 yin yoga training, Reiki level 2, and countless hours of self-motivated studies. I also loves fluffy kitties, spicy chai, wandering in nature, and great tamales. Get in touch to begin your own journey!

What types of students have you worked with?

People struggling with:

- starting their yoga journey (beginners are my favorite!)

- stress and anxiety

- back pain

- a lack of flexibility

- the belief that yoga isn't for them!

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I recently hosted an 8 part Meditation 101 series for a small group of women in my hometown and it was so rewarding! They had never meditated before and found such great results with our weekly private group meet-up. I hope to continue sharing this offering!
