About
My teaching approach: My teaching approach really depends on the student. I don't know what they need until we meet. But some things are across the board. I feel that technical skills are necessary tools for getting you where you want to go, so I put focus on making sure those are headed in the right direction.
I teach through musical example. I feel that all lessons learned are learned better if they are put into a musical context. Exercises are great and necessary, but it's possible to put those into a song or composition. That way you are always playing music:)
I teach drumset, tabla, frame drums, general percussion, guitar, western music theory and Indian rhythmic theory.
I've been playing and teaching for over 15 years. I've had the priviledge of playing all over the world with many different musicians, so I have a lot of experience in many different musical styles.
