I’m a bilingual (EN/PT) yoga instructor with a sensitive and inspiring approach. I guide sequences focused on each student’s needs, balancing strength, flexibility, and presence. My journey with yoga began 8 years ago as a personal exploration and continues to deepen as a path of self-discovery, healing, and connection. To me, the practice is a gateway to tune in—to the body, the breath, and the subtle layers of the self. As a teacher, my goal is to hold space for students to explore themselves and to offer support in their personal goals—whether it’s building physical strength, enhancing flexibility, unlocking advanced poses, or finding too

I teach Hatha yoga. I prefer offering less flow (cardio) and more static asanas (poses) throughout the class. Props are highly encouraged in my classes. (yoga blocks, yoga strap, yoga blanket and/or bolster). However if you don't have any we can still manage a class without the props. Investing in props though will benefit you greatly. I also offer Chair Yoga to seniors, people with minor disabilities as well as office folks. Weather a lunch break Chair Yoga or a full Chair Yoga class - I got your back. I love teaching Yin yoga classes too. This class would involve gentle poses we wouod hold for longer periods of time. Yin yoga targets ...

Manon M. says, "Marcy is amazing. Sincerely the best yoga teacher I ever had. Her experience and professionalism, along with her non-judgmental approach and deep kindness are priceless. I was looking forward every class I had with her, it was a treat for my body and mind. She personalized each class to make sure that my body’s needs were respected. If I needed some relaxing yoga or gentle stretching she was able to offer an amazing quality of teaching as much as if I needed a more “demanding and challenging” yoga. Marcy offers more than yoga classes, she brings peace and wellness into your life. I can’t recommend her enough." Read more

Yoga is so beautiful in the sense that it is your very own personal sacred practice - the blend of breath and thought within each asana goes deeper than we can ever imagine to heal, restore and rejuvenate 🕉️ I love sharing the knowledge I have gained with others. The practice of yoga is for one and all - there is zero judgment and pure bliss to experience how the body is able to open up and receive what is needed. As each individual requires their own attention, there is focus in communicating so that goals can be set up and met accordingly. I handle every client with care and respect - it is exciting to see their progress unfold as they lea...

Your Yoga Classes questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.

How much do yoga classes cost?

Single group sessions at yoga studios cost $15 to $20 on average. For private yoga training, you will likely spend between $30 and $70 on each lesson. Yoga classes mostly take place in a group setting, and the price per class depends on the location, yoga teacher’s knowledge and experience, and years of teaching.

How long is a yoga class?

On average, a yoga class is 75 to 90 minutes long. Many instructors say 90 minutes is simply how long it takes to pace through all the sacred yoga asanas, but a new shorter 60 minute class is quickly becoming popular with students.

What to wear to yoga class?

Most women prefer to wear tank tops or a sports bra that's made of a cotton and lycra (spandex) blend when they do yoga. Loose tee shirts and underwire bras are usually a no-no because they have a tendency to get in the way of movement.

For the bottoms, most women prefer to wear tights. These comfortable and stretchable pants will provide you with a full range of movement and allow your instructor to check your alignment. For slower-paced classes, you may be able to pull off wearing long skirts or stretchable harlem pants.

What to bring to yoga class?

Although many necessities are usually provided for you, there are a few things you may still want to bring yourself.

Here's what to bring to yoga class:

  1. Comfortable yoga attire
  2. Water bottle
  3. Hand towel
  4. Yoga mat
  5. Change of clothes
  6. Post-yoga snack

How often should you do yoga?

For those who are already quite active, doing yoga at least once or twice per week is recommended. For experienced practitioners, doing yoga every day is not uncommon. However, if you begin to be sore, consider taking a day or two off. Even if you only do you for one hour a week, you will experience the benefits of the practice.

How long does it take to get good at yoga?

There are many beginner yoga poses and sequences that you can get good at in your first yoga class. On a more spiritual level, it may take a lifetime to find the union between mind, body and spirit. You should expect to practice regularly for about six months before you feel confident that you can perform fundamental poses steadily and with some degree of proper form.

Karuna is a very loving, compassionate and caring instructor. My experience with her has been phenomenal. Her guidance inspires me in each Yoga class to go deep within myself and allows me to make a connection while I relax, stretch and let go of those blocking thoughts that sometimes manifest physically. She also transmits the importance of being present, accepting and loving yourself with an open heart. I highly recommend her.

I am really happy I hired Chiron Circle of wellness. The trainer used the information I gave ger and created a personalized food and exercise plan for me. We worked together over zoom, and the trainer was able to see my form and adjust me while I was following along with the exercises. I sweated a lot but achieved my weight loss goal and achieved a lower weight than I was in High School. I strongly recommend Chiron Circle.
