Beau MacDougall Guitar Lessons
About
My teaching approach: I love teaching beginners and many times I am approached by "Intermediate" and "Pro" guitarists. So many guitarists feel "stuck" in their ideas and want to "break out of the box" or the rut they're in! One of my specialties is to help guitarists think outside of the box, both in improvisation and chords! My influences are: Many guitarists... Eric Clapton, B.B. King, John Mayer, Buzz Feiten, James Burton, Albert Lee, George Benson, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Mike Bloomfield, ect.. My guitar lessons take place in a student's home. I teach guitar Techniques that cover: Lead guitar, Rhythm guitar, Fingerstyle, Performance, Improvisation, Jamming Skills, Music Theory, Scales and Exercises, Recording and Production, Guidance In Equipment Selection Your first guitar lesson with me might include the following: I start out with some questions like.. music interests, how long have they have played music, We start with basic concepts of the guitar. A guitar lesson might entail the following: Due to everyone being at a different level and having different goals, we discuss where they want to go and work from there! I treat everyone differently and don't like teaching everyone from the same "book"! I share tips from many years of touring around the world doing concerts, festivals, clubs and recording sessions! Some students want to learn the proper sequence for their pedalboards. The qualities I look for in an ideal guitar student might include the following: One that keeps an open mind and listens well!
I enjoy interacting with a student and watching them progress. Their excitement breaking through to new levels and playing songs they love!
