About

Hello there! I am a power-vinyasa flow

instructor. I was trained through core power yoga with my PYTT 200 hour certification.

Ive been teaching for two years now and have background in not only Class sequencing for beginners, but also for intermediate and advanced. With every sequence I teach, I offer modifications and variations of poses to either take a step back, or pick it up a notch depending on your circumstances.

I spent about a year at core power yoga mastering the sculpt class, so I have lots of knowledge on yoga with weights if you like a little more intensity!

I also have been researching and studying pre and post natal yoga, as well as restorative yoga.

Restorative classes are amazingly beneficial for those who participate in high intensity exercise like heavy weight lifting, cross fit etc. Restorative classes give your body the relaxation it needs to restore and recuperate the mind, body and soul.

I love helping people discover and explore the benefits of yoga. It truly makes me happy to help others heal, find inspiration and momentum.

What may seem like physical endeavors, or maybe just a new hobby often translates into huge transitions in how we think, feel and act towards ourselves, and others. Yoga helps you to see the world in a whole new light with "moving meditation".

Yoga is not about being flexible, or being able to touch your toees. It's a way of life; a way to destress; relax and listen to what your body is telling you. It's a way to calm the mind, and come into the present moment. We live very fast paced and busy lifestyles, yoga gives you the opportunity to let go of any built up stress and anxiety that may be causing literal heaviness (physically and mentally).

When I discoverd yoga, I was very emotionally unstable. I was vulnerable, and deeply lost. The sweet yoga instructors who guided me through class always opened their hearts to me, even if I was a stranger. This is when I decided that I wanted to be an instructor because of the peace and serenity I recieveed though such a hard time.

I've been teaching now for two years, and I've never been happier doing what I love.

Frequently asked questions

Meeting a new student face to face, either in person, or via skype/video chat would be preferable. I think that nowadays with social media, often people can be misunderstood. Having a more personal experience helps both me and the student get to know one another.

It's important to get to know the student deeply.

Is the student new to yoga? A beginner? intermediate? or possibly advanced?

What stage of life they are going through, and what are they looking to acheieve?

Where are they as far as physically and mental ability?

Does the student have any currnent injuries or past injuries that I need to be aware of?

Does anything hurt or feel strained?

I graduated from college in May of 2014 from Texas Tech with a journalism degree. I soon moved to Dallas, a city I was never fond of and jumped into the realm of working a 9-5 job.

I worked a few jobs that I tolerated, but never was truly happy, waking up everyday, to sit in two hours of traffic, doing something that I did not like. My jobs had me stuck on a telephone doing cold calls, and inside sales projects.

I hit a road block in my life where I realized I was not happy and not living or leading a lifestyle that I wanted to pursue. I gained a lot of weight because I took my anger out on drinking alcohol to escape, and ate out at every opportunity I could find. I stopped working out, and was usually sitting at a desk all day waiting for 5 oclock to come around.

I knew I needed to change for my sanity, and all the while I went through a pretty intense break up. I decided to begin blogging for fun about fitness in the Dallas area. I went aound to every gym and workout studio that I could find, just exploring and figuring out what I liked and didn't.

After a couple months I fell in love with core power yoga. They gave me a free week, and I ended up coming every single day. I got a membership for a couple months, and then eneded up signing up for their teacher training program. Ever sine then, my life was changed for the better!

I have taught for the last two years, full time at a couple studios, and have recently started to take my yoga knowledge and business online.

I haved worked with all students of all ages and all levels. I have taught super experienced yogis, athletes, and people with no athletic background what so ever.

A lot of intermediate/advaned students come to my classes for intense flows, but I also teach very low key and restorative classes for older people who may be recovering from injury or just need to slow down a bit.

Find someone who identifies with you and can resonate in the things that you are wanting out of your experience.

Find out what the student really wants in their experience.

Some students may not know exactly what they want, but to just have an idea will help the communication process.

For instance, maybe a student wants to lose weight.. while also gaining strength and endurance.

Maybe a student wants to alleviate pain and or pressure from a current or previous injury.

A student may want to find a new hobby that allows a new way to destress and relax.

A student may want to just learn about yoga, their body and their practice.
