Work. Kids. Commitments. It's easy to get off track, but then when you feel it, WOW. It's harder to climb up the stairs, the heat affects you in a new way and your doctor mentions finding a cardiologist. WTF? The shit has hit the fan.
I was there. Even as a health professional, owning a gym in the most prosperous city in America, I was stressed, working 14 hour days and grinding my body, mind and health into the ground. I ended up with a torn elbow ligament and a torn knee. Sound familiar?
The details may be different but the story is the same: broken, needing healing and unfit. I had strayed not only from self-care but from the very principles of true health and fitness that I clung to in the beginning of my career. My body and mind were paying the ultimate price.
Fast forward to today, and I feel strong. My goal isn’t a 6-pack. It’s to play all weekend with my family and to feel energized throughout the day. I train for mobility and health, not to torture myself. I've moved into a space of true health and fitness.
