Rico has been a fighter all his life starting young in the streets of Peru. Learning how to fight was a must where he came from so he turned to boxing , but boxing also taught him to fight in life as well , to have discipline and always remain humble. Boxing and soccer have been a passion of Rico since a child , which then made him fall in love with fitness as a whole. Rico trained in Sitpalang PERU muay thai for about 15 months under Jaír “Lokito Crazy” Jimenez a well known Peruvian Muay Thai fighter. Later he joined TITLE Boxing Club in Springfield when it first opened and befriended Lu and Julian, it's here where he found that TITLE Boxing Club was more than just a boxing club it was a place where you can learn, train and have fun doing it in a family atmosphere. Rico quickly wanted to be part of that. His goal is to always learn everyday so that he may teach and help people in any way possible. Striving to be mentally, spiritually, and physically better than yesterday. Rico is completing his NASM (CPT)Personal Training certificate so feel free to ask him any questions you have on how to get the results you want for your body!
My personal mantra:
Pain, struggles, obstacles, adversities, enemies ... they are all just food that fuels the beast within you to fight back and never submit. Be humble or be humbled. Corazón De León
My training style is:
Striving to be mentally, spiritually, and physically better than yesterday.
What gives me my fighting spirit:
Where I come from , what I’ve been through , and the love for my familia.
Outstanding coach. Motivating, reliable, likable, persistent, and a great communicator. Our four-year-old son, Alex, has been working with Coach Rico for about nine months. Alex is VERY, VERY energetic, is not very disciplined and has trouble focusing. We were looking for an additional outlet for his energy, to help channel this energy into a valuable skill, and to improve his focus and discipline. (He was already in several other organized sports and activities.) Coach Rico has been great with our son. The first several classes were tough due to Alex’s lack of focus. However, Coach Rico remained persistent and always positive. Coach Rico had several different activities planned for each class to keep Alex’s attention, including a good mix of traditional boxing techniques like punching and defending, as well as several fun “games” for Alex to play, which helped keep him interested while helping to develop eye-hand coordination and footwork. Overtime, Alex has greatly improved his actual boxing skills and is increasingly able to focus for longer periods of time on each phase of the lesson. We can see progress after every class. Additionally, Coach Rico acts as a great role model. Alex has never been a good eater, but Coach Rico always reminds him of the need to eat his food (including vegetables) in order to grow up big and strong. Alex takes this to heart and has even gotten better with meals. We were originally a little concerned that Alex would start boxing at school or punching other kids or his little brother. But to our relief, he has never once punched another kid. (Although when Alex’s little brother starts hitting him, he does put up his guard, just like Coach Rico showed him, which is extremely adorable!) Coach Rico also does a very good job of instilling in Alex the need to use his powers for good, and to always be a good person. We also appreciate the character building he works into the lessons. We are extremely pleased with Coach Rico and the very positive effect he has had on our son’s skills, focus and discipline. We plan to continue working with Coach Rico and would eagerly recommend him.
