About
At Joey Speakes Fitness, you won't only come to train to get yourself in shape and learn about nutrition but you'll learn why youre doing an exercise & why you should eat specific foods and how they affect you. I'll make sure you have the correct info to reach your goals, you come do the work!
I get so much enjoyment from teaching people to take care of themselves and helping them reaching their goals. I did not know when I started this journey that I would benefit from helping others as much as I have! Its been a great experience.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First I need to know what your goals are. Next I will analyse a client to see how their body moves and reacts to sports specific tasks. Then I'll make a plan to improve upon what they are currently doing well and look to correct any glaring issues. Once the plan is in place, I will work with my clients to get the most out of them and having a great time while doing so.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm an AFAA Certified personal trainer who is also certified in CPR & AED.
I also played pro baseball from 1987 - 1990 as an outfielder in the SF Giants Baseball Organization.
How did you get started teaching?
I helped friends and their kids in the neioghborhood with sports and training and decided it was what I wanted to do on a full time basis...and here I am!
What types of students have you worked with?
I've worked with all types of clients from a person recovering from a stroke, cancer survivors, obese clients, little league ball players, high school ball players, seniors up to 85 years old...and everyone in between!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Working with a cancer survivor, I was a part of her becoming the best version of herself getting ready for her sons wedding. To see her get to the palce she wanted to be was a very satisfying moment.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Do your research and pick the person who your gut says is the right choice.
