Coach Rex. 54 yrs young. wrestled in high school, black belts in Tang Soo Do, American Kenpo, Brazilian Jiujitsu. Competed in point karate, full contact karate (also black belt champion in mens breaking division), ammy Kickboxing, Gi Jiujitsu (IBJJF) and No Gi Jiujitsu (2nd place Abu Dhabi 2014 trials), 22-7 ammy/ smoker MMA Fights and 1-1 professional MMA. i have a very hands on and relaxed approach. I can make any space work for a killer training/workout session. i have owned and operated my own ”big” gym and also under the name Ventura MMA/ Muay Thai Academy. MIxed Martial Arts are my passion. i love teaching boxing muay thai jiujitsu karate wrestling judo.. i have always been a athlete. Played football since 8 yrs okd through high school (University high Irvine) and Huntington Beach high. started surfing at 14. been playing music (drums) since 4 yrs okd. moved to hollywood at age 19 and played for original Guns n Roses line up. (Hollywood Rose).started kated karate ie in 1986 black belt 1991. started Brazilian Jiujitsu with Master Ricksson Gracie 1996. Also a black belt in Ed Parker American Karate under Bryan Hawkins Culver City. In 2006 i was hired as no gi jiujitsu coach at Hostility MMA Ventura. while there my training partners/ students included UFC fighters TUf fighters.. and soaked in what they had to teach. from planning fight camps with proper diet, stregnth/conditioning and MMA fighting skills. i always kept a notebook handy and wrote down lesson plans, drills ect.
