    Frequently asked questions

The first step is to schedule a phone call. This can be done either over the phone or through video chat - such as FaceTime, Skype or Zoom. This phone consultation helps us determine if private yoga lessons are right for you.

Next, we schedule an introductory session. This 60 minute session provides an opportunity for us to meet and address any questions or concerns you might have.  It includes an evaluation of your health, mobility, range of motion, personal goals and a strategy for meeting those goals.

From there, we create a plan to work together once, twice, or three times per week with a yoga program that is perfectly tailored to your body and your life.

I'm a certified and registered yoga teacher with over 18 years of experiences teaching yoga for corporations, private health clubs, and independent yoga studios.  Currently, I have shifted focus from teaching studio based group classes and have began specializing in private sessions with individuals, couples and small groups.

The number of sessions needed varies, depending on the health, experience, and goals of the student. We work together to create a custom yoga program that fits your needs and budge.

I began practicing yoga as a therapeutic aid to help nurture me through a difficult life transition. At the time, I was struggling with a detrimental lifestyle that was keeping me stuck in unhealthy habitual behaviors.  I suffered from depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, insomnia, and feelings of being disconnected from myself and my place in the world. What I needed at that time was to slow down and turn inwards.  I needed stillness and clarity.  I needed to reconnect to my body in a positive and loving way. I sought out yoga classes that helped me cultivate the mental and physical discipline necessary to make the changes I needed. Yoga changed my life. You might even say it saved my life. I became a preacher for the practice and felt that everyone could benefit. What I learned is that yoga provided the foundation and inner solitude needed to gain clarity and focus for healing. Most importantly, it brought me home to my self.

I have experience teaching people of all ages and levels of abilities. People who typically seek out my services are beginners who want to learn the foundational methods of yoga in a safe, supportive and private environment. Others include those needing help moving through a life transition or mourning a loss; rehabilitating an injury, improving a chronic health or medical condition; wanting to achieve a particular level of fitness or weight loss goal, or anyone needing the increased scheduling flexibility that only a private class can provide.

I'm currently helping a 38 year old woman who want's to loose weight and improve her health so that she can conceive. She starts IVF treatments soon and wants to ensure she's in optimal health. We've been working together now for about six weeks, and she's seen significant improvement in her strength, flexibility and mobility. She can now get up and down from the floor without struggle, and her mood is much happier as she has less depression. She has also lost ten pounds!

Check credentials! Find out where and how long their training was.  Make sure your yoga teacher is knowledgable, has at least a 200 hour certification from a qualifiying school who is registered with the National Yoga Alliance.

How can private yoga lessons help you? What is your main concern or area of focus? What are the top three things you would like to work on together?
