FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

My main goal is aiding students in feeling comfortable with beginning a new practice through answering questions, being as hands-on as desired, and reinforcing the need to release expectations, trust the process and embrace where the body is at in the moment.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

My background is in education and coaching, teaching comes naturally to me.  I have dedicated over 300 hours to obtaining certifications in hatha yoga, trauma informed yoga, and chakra healing.  I continue to learn and grow within my craft as well as share my experiences within my personal practice.

How did you get started teaching?

After practicum, I began working with court ordered DUI therapy patients.

What types of students have you worked with?

ALL TYPES! I teach preschoolers through high-school, I teach a chair yoga class for seniors, immigrant/refugee, transitional housing residents, dads/daughters,  teachers and school staff, and all in between. YOGA IS FOR EVERYONE and that is whom we seek to share our practice with

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Describing one event is a challenge as I enjoy each opportunity to create a space of healing, but I am particularly proud to be holding classes with the teachers and staff at local elementary schools!  I am famailiar with the load educators carry and it is a pleasure to help them decompress and find harmony.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Find a teacher that you can relate to that will challenge you personally and physically.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

The goals for their practice - peace? fitness? meditation? anxiety? stress?  The purpose for your practice is key to identifying what type of class will meet your needs.
