Coach Mac started his martial arts journey at the age of 6, under the guidance of TaeKwonDo Master John Emmons in Kissimmee FL. At the age of 11,Coach mac recieved his blackbelt and continued to train over the years acheiving the rank of 5th Dan and Certified Instructor through TaeKwonDo America. With over 25 years of experience, he finds it easy to relate to students of every age group. the last 10 years of his Martial arts training has been didicated to the various striking diciplines, which include K1 rules Kickboxing, Boxing, San Da (Chinese Kickboxing), and Muay Thai. Currently coach mac is an active amatuer fighter and striking coach in the Chicagoland area.

Aside from being a martial artist coach Mac is also a graduate from Chamberlain University with a Bachelors degree in Nursing, with over 10 years of medical experience. Currently CPR and first aid certified.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
We will begin with fundamentals and basics then grow from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Over 20 years of martial arts experience teaching and competing. Graduated with a BS in Nursing, understanding the body's anatomy and physiology allows me to ensure my students maximize their work out and learning while preventing injury. Essentially upgrading the software without damaging the hardware.

How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching TaeKwonDo at the age of 12 and became a Jr. Instructor. Been teaching ever since.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all ages both men and women. I have also worked with people with special needs.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look around and find an instructor you are comfortable with.
