About
I have over 20 years of teaching guitar professionally in the NYC area covering all styles and levels and have played professionally thoughout the world so I can not only get you going guitar wise but can give you real insight into building a solid musical foundation.
I love teaching guitar/music and always feel that I learn through teaching and that it is equally important to give back what I have learned over the years.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
With new students regardless of level, I go over technical fundamentals, picking, left hand technique. I try as quickly as possible to engage students through musical examples rather than endless exercises. Let's face it, people take lessons to play music not to do exercises.
With more advanced students, I cover whatever areas the student wishes to explore, improvising/soloing, ear training, composiotions.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have had private lessons with some of the top guitarists in the jazz scene, Joe Pass, Ted Greene, Mick Goodrick and have studied at the Berkelee College of Music as well the GIT.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Lessons are $60 an hour but are negotiable.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students ages 6-60 covering all styles and interests whether it be rock/blues, jazz or classical.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Students should ask what experience the teacher has, can the teacher cover the necessary elements to help the student grow and develop over time a real approach to the guitar as opposed to teaching a few riffs, etc.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should seriously consider whether or not they have the time to practice daily and dedicate to learning the instrument.
Secondely, students should consider what type of music they want the teacher to cover.
