Born in Australia and raised in India, Anika encourages growth of the spiritual self as well as the physical self citing the interconnection to each other, to the world, and the universe at large. An old soul at heart, Anika took her passion for yoga to the next level and did her teach training 200 HR RYT at Sonic Yoga. Off the mat, Anika has studied Ayurveda, as well as Macrobiotics at the Kushi Institute and currently is studying nutrition at school. Her greatest passion in life is to help others reconnect themselves to their infinite truth through the synchronization of the breath to the body, mind, and soul.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I usually like to get a good understanding of why the student wants to do yoga and what their end goals and expectations are (ei. anxiety, flexibility, balance, stability, mental calmness,etc). I also like to get to know if they have physical or emotional limitations and what their availibility is like.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an internationally certified 200RYT yoga instructor from Sonic Yoga and Yoga Alliance. I also have my 60+ hours in Trauma yoga, which basically is a special training if your working and teaching people like veterans who have ptsd, sex trafficking victims, and so on. I also have expereince teaching yoga to kids (toddlers to adults). I also have 30+ hours of advanced training in meditation.
How did you get started teaching?
I started teaching 5 years ago when I took a gap year from college and found myself through my personal yoga practice.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
