How did you get started teaching?
Formerly a social worker who worked with a pediatric AIDS population in hospital settings. Eventually I decided that I wanted to go from a profession that was mostly about death and dying to something that was more life affirming. I have exercised most of my adult life and decided to try the profession of personal training.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with both men and women ages 30's through 80's. Weight loss, flexibility, strength training and balance. I have also done post rehab work with people that have had lower back, knee, and shoulder problems.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
My advice would be that you work with someone with whom you feel comfortable. Someone who is experienced and responsible and can help you achieve your goals.
