Living yoga for a better life and getting a better body as a side effect is how I provide my service. Enlightening people with the right way of doing asanas in specific and the right way of doing everyday things at large is what I find my strength in. Your body is your TEMPLE. keep it calm and clean with Yoga! Yoga is jit about the shape of your body but the shape of your life. Thus its important to live yoga rather than perform it. And that's how I enjoy it, by living it in my breath, in my daily routine and in everything I do and do not do......

Your Yoga Classes questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.com.

How much do yoga classes cost?

Single group sessions at yoga studios cost $15 to $20 on average. For private yoga training, you will likely spend between $30 and $70 on each lesson. Yoga classes mostly take place in a group setting, and the price per class depends on the location, yoga teacher’s knowledge and experience, and years of teaching.

How long is a yoga class?

On average, a yoga class is 75 to 90 minutes long. Many instructors say 90 minutes is simply how long it takes to pace through all the sacred yoga asanas, but a new shorter 60 minute class is quickly becoming popular with students.

What to wear to yoga class?

Most women prefer to wear tank tops or a sports bra that's made of a cotton and lycra (spandex) blend when they do yoga. Loose tee shirts and underwire bras are usually a no-no because they have a tendency to get in the way of movement.

For the bottoms, most women prefer to wear tights. These comfortable and stretchable pants will provide you with a full range of movement and allow your instructor to check your alignment. For slower-paced classes, you may be able to pull off wearing long skirts or stretchable harlem pants.

What to bring to yoga class?

Although many necessities are usually provided for you, there are a few things you may still want to bring yourself.

Here's what to bring to yoga class:

  1. Comfortable yoga attire
  2. Water bottle
  3. Hand towel
  4. Yoga mat
  5. Change of clothes
  6. Post-yoga snack

How often should you do yoga?

For those who are already quite active, doing yoga at least once or twice per week is recommended. For experienced practitioners, doing yoga every day is not uncommon. However, if you begin to be sore, consider taking a day or two off. Even if you only do you for one hour a week, you will experience the benefits of the practice.

How long does it take to get good at yoga?

There are many beginner yoga poses and sequences that you can get good at in your first yoga class. On a more spiritual level, it may take a lifetime to find the union between mind, body and spirit. You should expect to practice regularly for about six months before you feel confident that you can perform fundamental poses steadily and with some degree of proper form.

Julie S.
After a long day of teaching...we were blessed with a retreat in her class with soothing yoga poses. I especially loved child's pose to stretch out my lower back and relieve all the tension from the day. I appreciate the time we spent together. I relieved all of the tension from all of my body parts. Rosa brought Corpse Pose to a new level by tucking me in a blanket. Rosa made me feel safe and supported in her space.

Brionna has a great sense of who is in the room. As a dancer, I am used to fast paced movement, but her classes ground me and make me feel more stable in my movement. I like her flow, her music choice and the essential oils she uses to close out the practice.

She was really considered with our low level of yoga. She adapted the class to our level so we could enjoy it! It was an amazing experience next to the sea. She explian us how to breath properly and the importance of that! We wish we could have another lesson with her. She is an amazing instructure who loves what she does.

When I came to SHINE, I was at the beginning of my self-care journey. There were a lot of great things about me that I had forgotten or had yet to discover; and a lot of negative ideas about myself that I needed to unlearn. April Diane took her time, carefully applying what was needed to help unpack, confront, focus and actually apply what I’ve even learning to my daily life. It’s been a year and two months and I am far more attentive to my own needs, I manage relationships and setbacks far better than in the past, and I am totally convinced that I am fully capable and can have everything that I’ve ever dreamed of. I am not afraid to say “YES!” to me and “NO!” to anything that doesn’t serve me and help me to be my best self for others. In essence, SHINE rocks. Period.

I've been to a number of her classes and I'm in awe every time. She is so gentle and even asks for consent to adjust those who need help perfecting their poses.
