About

Consider the cosmic conscience and there we began to yoke, to unify, we learn that we are boundless! When seeking answers from outside influences we will never get our answers questioned or questions answered. So, we begin to look within ourselves, into the cosmos as we steady the mind by practicing Yoga, enabling us to sit more comfortably in meditation making our vision and intentions more clear. The ripples of the mind calm, we see our true reflect and understand that WE are the universe. We are one. We are unified.

I have been trained in 200 hr Ashtanga Yoga at It's Yoga, 150 hr Rocket Yoga at Yoga Ah and have 60 hr Kids Yoga with Busy Being Kids. I own Hue Yoga where we teach 27 classes a week with multple workshops a month.

In 2018 Katie assisted a Costa Rica Yoga training and surf camp and completed a 15 hr Busy Being Kids Yoga training for adults to teach kids in and out of schools mindfulness and is now partnering with Project Yoga and Skool Aid. Her zeal for nature, adventure and sunshine is reflected in every practice which inspires students to be creative, be brave and laugh! Shanti!

I follow the Rocket Sequencing and will use modifications accordingly.

    Rocket Yoga

In this self empowering practice where we let go of the right or wrong way to do a pose and find freedom to explore our strength that will carry us through the universe and to begin our journey towards bravery by listening to our inner teacher and not our inner critic. The Rocket yogi honors all practitioners and their journey through the cosmos.

The Rocket is a sequences of poses that came from the traditional Ashtanga practice created by Larry Shultz. Larry Shultz practices Ashtanga for 7 years, one of his teachers being Pattabi Jois and later became the Grateful Dead’s personal teacher where the name of the Rocket was coined. While practicing and teaching in the West he realized that his students needed a traditional practice made for more modern times, giving his students the healing qualities they needed and this is how the Rocket was born.

The Rocket system is a six day a week practice with varying sequence depending on the day of the week. The duration of the Rocket is 45 to 75 min depending on the class. Classes are Bottle Rocket, Rocket l, Rocket ll and Mixed Level. The Bottle is an introduction to the Rocket sequence, inviting all levels any day of the week. Rocket l, ll and lll (MIxed Level) alternate days bringing a focus to different parts of the body. Rocket l focus is “Long and Strong” Rocket ll focus is on back bends. Rocket lll (Mixed level) focus is on a variety of l and ll. Sunday, the beginning of the week we practice the Primary which is a traditional practice and elongates the body. Monday, we practice Rocket l which is the “long and strong” sequence where focus on the legs, creating a strong foundation for the week. Tuesday, we practice Rocket ll focusing on backbends, core and arms. Wednesday, we repeat Rocket ll but we might deepen the poses “blast off day” depending on the yogis individual journey. Thursday, we practice Rocket l or the Primary to sooth and balance the body by slowing down our practice. Friday, the Mixed Level or Rocket lll where were we mix it up by adding elements from both sequence l and ll, ending the week strong with the most poses. Lastly, Saturdays we rest and reflect.

The Rocket inspires us to explore, to be brave and creative, to find a new path between poses and so much more. In this unique sequence we practice to enable us to sit and meditate longer with ease so we can calm the ripple of the mind to see our true reflection and manifest our dreams.
