About

I use radar technology and simulation software during lessons. As a FlightScope Professional I am equipped with the latest data and performance parameters from our Flightscope team. Regardless of your skill level I have the resources and tools to identify what your numbers should be and how to improve them.

The enjoyment of watching a student improve is definitely the greatest benefit of being a golf instructor. The problem is that with most instructors there's no way to see or measure your progress and the student depends on the instructor's feedback. With radar technology you can see and track your progress over time. This leaves no room for me to lie to my students just to make them feel good and keep coming back when there's no real improvement.

    Frequently asked questions

When taking on a new student I begin with a brief introduction of FlightScope radar and my general process of what data parameters I'm concerned with first while the student warms up. From there I get the student right into hitting some shots. I'll review the data with the student and explain what it all means. Once I've identified the students problem I'll give them some drills. After the drills we'll finish off with some full shots again. The student will see the numbers change instantly. They know they are on the right track to improvement and therefore commits to the process until their next lesson.

I am a FlightScope Professional and I have a bachelors in engineering. My engineering background gives me the ability to understand golf physics in intricate detail. I am the Head Jr. Golf Coach at a local private school in his area and won coach of the year last year. I enjoy studying and understanding the biomechanics of the body and how forces act during the swing. Knowing how the physics works behind the scenes gives me the ability to help my students learn and grow. Most of my students spend more time playing and less time practicing in frustration. I don't have to convince them they are better when they leave, they know they are better because they see the results.

Adult lessons are $60/hr. I give discounts for jr, sr, military, fire and police. I do group lessons up to a maximum of 3 students, can do 4 for a family. I also do simulation golf for up to 4 players at a time. Times for simulation must be booked in advance. There is a 2 hour max limit and requires a deposit. Contact me for more info.

I began learning the game many years ago.  My mentor was a former player at the University of Memphis and was a highly accomplished NCAA golfer. After being separated from my mentor it became my dream to share the knowledge of the game that I was taught. I began working with friends and family in which they quickly improved. I relocated to Memphis and began working with jr's in to golf and soccer. Again, my players quickly improved. I worked a job in golf course maintenance during my engineering studies and began giving lessons to members. Many of them realized my talent and encouraged me to pursue teaching. Upon completing my engineering degree I began working and obtained my FlightScope Professional certificate.

I have worked with all types of students including juniors and seniors and every age between. I have worked with students who were just picking up the game as well as those who have played for years. I have worked with many students from other sports and help them translate what they learned from those sports to golf.

Always ask why. Don't just take someone's word for it. Just because they're an instructor or teaching professional doesn't mean they have good reasoning for making you do something. If they're having you do something then they should be able to explain it clearly with no confusion as to why. If they can't do that and if it doesn't make sense then find someone else.

Ask about their teaching philosophies from beginning to end. That includes full swing, short game and putting. Too many times in golf students don't get a clear picture of where they are and where the instructor is trying to get them. Ensure that their methods and philosophies match your goals and what you want to do.
