About this pro

At the age of 12, I began boxing competitively for 8 years. Over the course of those 8 years, I fought 40 times as an amateur, with a record of 38 wins, 2 losses. I was the 2x champion of Puerto Rico at 141lbs, and 1-time silver gloves champion of Puerto Rico.

At age 16, I began wrestling competitively for school. The following year, I transitioned to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, competed, and became a 6x champion in Puerto Rico. Presently, I train a competitive Jiu Jitsu team which has won both Gold and Silver medals in state tournaments. I currently hold a purple belt.

Additionally, I began pursuing training in MMA at the age of 16. I had 6 amateur fights (6-0) and turned pro at 25 (1-0). The following year, I switched to Muay Thai competing at an amateur level (7-0) and turned pro this year. I am currently 2-0 in Muay Thai with my next pro fight in January for the title at my weight class. My pro Muay Thai fights are televised on UFC Fight Pass. In addition to competing, I have extensive experience teaching Muay Thai and kickboxing. I have trained people in the fitness world, fighters and non-fighters alike, since I was 15, and have extensive knowledge in weight and strength training.

Jose has been helping me get back into shape, physically and mentally. Due to severe back, knee, and foot pain, It has been over two years since I have been able to do anything. Even menial chores around the house have been tough. After speaking with Jose and developing a plan, we have been working to strengthen my physical and mental weakness through stretching, weight training, and boxing. In the short few weeks since starting, I already feel tremendous difference. Getting back into a combat gym is very important. I’m not a fighter, but I love being around the fighting family. Jose is a new addition to that family. The lessons are well rounded and revolve around the whole-person concept. You are not going to get the same level of care and training in a classroom environment. If you are looking to elevate your game or just looking to get one-on-one instruction, look no further.

Regarding dedication, perseverance, discipline and patience, Rodríguez falls into all categories. A gentle person with a humble heart but a savage animal in everything he sets out to achieve. It was an honor for me that he assisted me in my training times, he always motivated me to get out the best of me in martial arts.
