Earned black belt in 1977. One of the most experienced martial artist in the area that focusses on striking arts.
Developing a variety of trainees with different backgrounds and abilities to attain their training goals keeps my work always different and challenging.
I've been at this gym for 7 months now, and it is the best boxing gym in the tidewater area that I have experienced. Most of the other boxing gyms that I have look into, you had to be part of a team, and I just wanted to go somewhere to learn real boxing. Coach Lee really knows everything there is to know about boxing and kickboxing. He starts you off with pure simple technique drills, and from there, he adds on over time, according to what he thinks you can handle, but also knows how to listen, if we tell him its too much. What I love the most about coach Lee, is how he adapts to each of us individual, he knows how to get the same result from all of us, by telling us individually what we need to do, according to how we think and see things, and by me being a ballet dancer, I am very technical with everything I do, so to have a coach that understands that part about me, has no problems breaking things down, and doesn't mind me asking questions, as long as I listen, is amazing. You wont get that anywhere else, most coaches will just tell you to do it, with no reason behind it, and I have experienced those kinds of coaches, but coach Lee knows how to differentiate when a person needs to be told, and when a person is trying to really learn.
I've been receiving boxing training from Lee for 9 years now. He understands how to analyze a fighter and tweak what's necessary in your form and footwork. Lessons can be challenging which is good - and the workout has kept me in top shape for years. Great trainer! Wouldn't go anywhere else.
