About
Danish born and raised, Nina’s yoga journey started 15 years ago whilst living in England, as a means to counter-act what years of competitive horse riding had done to her body. She is now living between beautiful California Wine-Country just north of San Francisco and Denmark. Nina is a Yoga Alliance ERYT200, RYT500hr+ & YACEP certified yoga teacher, trained in Hatha and Smart Flow. Although her base is in Northern California, Nina regularly teaches workshops in Europe, Asia and the US. She is also a contributor to the largest fitness magazine in Scandinavia, Iform, and films online yoga with Yogastream.dk.
Nina is a self-confessed anatomy geek, but likes bending the rules and challenge yoga dogma. Her approach to asana is based on bio-mechanic intelligence and curiosity blended with classic yoga principles, which has resulted in her very own dynamic and unique Vinayasa style.
Nina works from the principle that asana is a union of strength, flexibility, balance and breath, but also thinks it imperative to inject playfulness and fun into her practice and teaching. Her teaching is about personal empowerment, developing body intelligence and creating awe, amazement and gratefulness for your own body and its capabilities. Nina aims to give her students strong, safe practices, which includes them understanding and respecting their unique body. She works from the concept that we are all our own guru: Her job as a teacher is to introduce you to your own power and help you find peace and presence through movement.
