About this pro

We offer one of the most diverse selections of training when compared to other boxing and Muay Thai Gyms in San Diego. We build healthy bodies from the ground up with introductory and novice courses to improve conditioning but tailored to prevent injury. Our intro and Pro Level Training are designed to teach and improve proper striking, kicking, footwork, and grappling techniques.

I enjoy being apart of the process and reaching the goal my clients have set out for themselves. Every aspect of training is a challenge on all levels. If my clients show up to work it is my job to overcome the challege from weight loss to preventing injury or buildng muscle around injury, or even perfecting techniques. My Goal is my clients Goal and we CAN do it together.

    Very professional

Vanessa is an extremely knowledgeable coach and is great at making her training sessions informative while still enjoyable! Although I had experience with lifting weights in the past, in one session I vastly improved my form on a major lift thanks to her guidance and close attention to detail. Definitely would recommend her as a trainer!

I mainly go to Calvin’s classes and training with Vanessa. But all the coaches are beyond awesome. They all know how to make you work and make it fun at the same time. I usually get bored with workouts and going to gym but not at AO8. This gym has been the longest relationship I’ve been in :)

Their very experienced staff takes the time to not only show you the works outs (repeatedly for people like me- Thank you Danny) but they encourage you every step of the way. Now that I have taken my fair share of classes with each of the coaches (I am missing just 2-3 more) I can gauge my abilities on completing the workout routine versus who is teaching that day.

I grew up as an athlete with a competitive WINNING edge. To be able to pass the knowledge on and see the experience I went through in reaching my goals in my clients, is why I continue to Teach!

What types of students have you worked with?

Every and all. There are no limitations.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

I am fond of the community Events we are apart of; from kids programs we offer in self defense and discipline to High Schools we are proud sponsors of, To Stuff the Bus in making sure students have the neccessities for school.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

The advise i would give a student is simple:

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

You will be pushed but if you want that change we will get there. This is more than Training.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

What do you want to accomplish?
