Jackie began her journey as a teacher when she completed training in Ashtanga yoga in 2009, and Hot Style yoga in 2010. She continued her yoga education by completing the Balance Yoga Teacher Training Program at KC Fitness Link, a 200 hour teacher training certification, and is currently working on her 500 hour certification. An avid learner, Jackie’s educational background currently includes bachelor degrees in Finance, African History, and a master’s degree in Health Administration.
Jackie’s personal practices include the Ashtanga yoga, Hot style yoga, Restorative, and Aerial/Hammock yoga. She truly lives her practice. Every day she finds a balance with in her personal practice, teaching yoga, as well as working a full time position at Optum.
It is important to Jackie to spread the wonderful joys and the benefits of yoga to her community, because as Jackie says “the benefits from yoga for the mind and body are endless.”

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
To start first lesson with a discussion 10 minutes or so. This way we can get to know one another and move forward as to what best fits each individual needs.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I work in healthcare and have my entire professional career. Also have been practicing yoga since I was a child, and have recieved numerous trainings/workshops/and expertise help from other intructors across the globe.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Depends on length of class, in person/online/over phone. Work with each person to help get them what they need - to practice. Love wha tI do and willing to work with individuals to fit schedules and pocket best available!
How did you get started teaching?
I actually started teaching by pure accident. One day due to bad weather my teacher was late to class (it happens we are only human!). I was asked to step in and help out, from there I fell in love, and have been ever since!
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with all ranges of students from first time novices to those who have been practicing even longer than I!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Recent event is integrating candlelight and live acoustic guitar to a Hot Yoga class. Never in my life in all over the world I have seen this. Very excited to have this opportunity and work with the best yoga studio ever - Ra Yoga!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Take a moment to do like a meet and greet over phone. See if your personalities and path are aligned. You will lvoe learning more from an instructor that you likes and a true bond with!
