FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I first asses their current abilities.  From their I teach basic stances, strikes and kicks using a step by step approach to gain proper technique for each skill.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I am a Kukkiwon certified 4th dan in TaeKwonDo. I am also a level 1 coach with US Taekwondo as well as a PATU coach. I am also a certified tester with the Kukkiwon and a certified 3rd class Master with the Kukkiwon.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

For TaeKwonDo lesssons, the tuition is $50 per month.

How did you get started teaching?

My GrandMaster selected me to become a teacher and take over his original school site which he establised in 1994.

What types of students have you worked with?

I have worked with various students including children with ADD, ADHD as well as handicapped and autistic children.

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

Make sure that any school that you attend will not promise you a black belt. You can only EARN a black belt by the work you do not the amount of time you train.  Also, compettions should always be optional and belt test should only be available to you when you are ready.  A madated belt test every two month is a big red flag.  Parents should always be allowed to watch classes.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

what are you goals?  Do you want to learn to compete? Defend yourself?  Gain confidence? or just learn something new while getting exercise?  Knowing what your goals are help us train you better.
