About
Capoeira Canavial, founded in 2007, is a Fort Collins, Colorado-based martial arts and dance academy. With a distinct focus on Capoeira, a Brazilian martial art and dance form developed by African slaves, the academy offers an immersive learning experience. Students not only master self-defense but also learn to play and dance simultaneously to performed and sung music, often with an element of Afro-Brazilian drumming and singing in Brazilian Portuguese. Under the guidance of Mestre Lucas Corvo, students progress from basic to nuanced movements, rhythms, and choruses.
