Multiple degrees of Black Belt in Multiple styles of martial arts, but more importantly, a Bachelor's Degree in Education and a Master's Degree in Recreational Therapy. Worked in a psychiatric facility where I had hundreds of real life altercations. I don't teach based on tradition or theory, but on reality.
How did you get started teaching?
I come from a long line of educators, fell in love with the combat arts as a young man and decided this was my calling.
What types of students have you worked with?
From age 3 all the way to 82. I've had students with CP, ADD, ADHD, ODD, you name it, we've worked with it. Having a Master's in Recreational Therapy allows me to make things work better for struggling students than most instructors are qualified to do.

Having a Black Belt, even a high level one doesn't prove someone is experienced or even good at teaching. It's why I have a BS in Education and a Master's in Rec. Therapy. We know how people learna dn how best to teach.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Cheap training isn't good and good training isn't cheap. Be ready to pay what it costs and to drive the distance for the best epxerience. Especially considering the immense impact this person could have on your life or the life of your loved ones.
