Leah Richards is a 200 hour certified yoga instructor, a trained Reiki Practitioner, and a Licensed Massage Therapist. Her yoga certification is in Power Flow Yoga from Corepower Yoga and she got her Reiki training through Sandra Coyner. Leah currently teaches four different styles of yoga: Vinyasa Flow Yoga, Power Flow Yoga, Restorative Yoga, and Yin Yoga. She teaches at currently at 11 locations around the Chicagoland area in Kane & Dekalb County. She is a Northern Illinois University Alumni with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and is an alumni of Waubonsee Community College Massage Therapy Program.Leah’s mission is to make yoga accessible to all different shapes, sizes, and ages. Being plus-size and living with a few medical conditions (Hashimoto’s disease, Narcolepsy, Fibromyalgia, and a severe vitamin d deficiency), she understands and respects everyone’s level of practice is different and offers many different variations of the different poses so everyone is successful in class. Leah would be honored and humbled to help guide you through your yoga journey. She cannot wait to help you experience all the wonderful benefits of yoga. Leah’s mission with massage is to help people achieve wellness in the body as well as the mind. This idea of being a massage therapist wasn’t a dream that just popped up over night; this was a ten year dream in the making. So with the support of her Family, Friends, & an extremely supportive Boyfriend she enrolled in Waubonsee Community College. During Waubonsee’s Massage program she really enjoyed the idea that one small muscle could be the culprit of a large amount of problems; meaning the solution to the problem may be easier to find than people/clients would think. Leah also likes the idea of helping individuals live a happier and healthier life with Massage Therapy.

I like to spend about 15-20 mins either on the phone, communicate via emai, or before the first session discussing what they want/need out of the lessons. I also have them fill out a liability waiver & contract so that the student and I are on the same page.
