About
Bruce Lee developed his personal fighting style of Jeet Kune Do in the mid 1960s and we are the only Jeet Kune Do school in Kansas. I have been doing JKD since 1995 and currently hold the rank of Master Sifu. We teach only self defense techniques with no sport applications. We feel that If it will not help you in a fight, we won't teach it. Bruce Lee called JKD scientific street fighting and that's our focus. We know it's not for everybody, but if you want to know how to defend yourself, effectively and efficiently, and are 18 or older, then Pear Tree Self Defense Center is a great place to learn.
Jeet Kune Do is an innovative martial art that is alive and changing. It is a personal art that takes into consideration the individual with their strengths and weaknesses.
We really enjoy helping a student grow in their chosen martial art, however we do not teach JKD to those under 18 years old due to the very serious nature of Jeet Kune Do.
