How did you get started teaching?
My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer when I was 11 years old and started pursuing alternative medicines like yoga and a plant-based diet. She took me to a class in Rochester for hot Vinyasa and I fell deeply in love with the practice. It was the first time I had felt alivened, enriched and comfortable in my own skin.
I continued to learn and practice yoga through high school and eventually made it my primary focus in secondary education.
From there, I went on to earn a number of different certifications in the alternative medicine field and worked in the yoga studio that I was learning from, assisting yoga instructors.
After I earned by RYT-200, I began teaching anywhere I could - condominium complexes, University programs, farmers markets, etc.
