Eight Gates Tai Chi Chuan
About
I teach Tai Chi Chuan as a complete applied martial art. I believe you need to understand how it works as a functional art to get the full health benefits. I've been training in martial arts for nearly 40 years and teaching for over 25 years.
I really love Tai Chi Chuan and martial arts in general. I devote the major portion of my time to the training and the study of Tai Chi Chuan, and I really enjoy imparting my experience, knowledge, and my passion to my students.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I first start teaching basic exercise drills called Ji Ben Gong. These are relatively simple movement sets that can be repeated that allow movements that will be in the hand form to be learned in stages. After the body movement is learned, then the engages the movement is simple stepping patterns. Forms training starts after that, starting with the short 37 posture form and progressing to the long 108 posture form. Two person drill called push hands is introduced also. Training progresses to application training and sword training along with every thing else after that. There are also Qigong sets and stance holding exercises that are introduced during various stages of training.
