    Where to start?! Shayna has been everything I could have hoped for in a trainer. Let's start with the physical stuff: I have always been consistently active, but for me that meant yoga and running and nothing more. After ONE leg day with her I felt confident and comfortable enough to start squatting 160lbs regularly. She helped me zero in and focus on form which, as a runner, is invaluable. Shayna gave me tips for keeping my feet and spine in line with one another, which made it easy to focus on progress instead of just focusing on how much I could or could not lift. My alignment got better, as well as my strength. Doing HIIT workouts with her are my favorite, though. She does the workouts with me so we can push through the struggle together! She is so driven and she pushes herself so hard that it inspires me to go faster and harder just to keep up. I have a personal goal of trying to beat her in a HIIT sprint one day! But what I actually love most about working with her is not the physical aspect of her training, but the mental support that she offers and openly shares with her clients. She explained to me that exercise, while it can be very much about how our bodies look, is much more about FEELING good and capable and strong. When we feel good in our bodies, we start to love and take care of our bodies, which ultimately makes us look and feel happier. She always says that "the most important thing is listening to what your body wants and needs" and it has given me so much intuitive perspective about my health that I could not have had without her. I no longer focus on how my body LOOKS, but what my body can DO--which, ironically, has helped shift and change the way my body looks for the better.

    Working with Shayna completely turned my life around. I ate pretty healthy most of the time, but working with Shayna brought my nutrition to the next level. She taught me about macronutrients and provided incredible suggestions for snack swaps. Her recommendations completely changed the way I look at food. In terms of fitness, Shayna really understood my goals and knew exactly what I should do to get me there. She created an incredibly in depth workout regimen for me, opening my eyes to exercises I would have never done at all! I went from being a woman who only went to spin class and lifted the occasional dumbbell to someone who was going to the "men's side" of the gym and squatting more than 100 lbs of weight. What is your typical process for working with a new student?

We always offer a complimentary initial session, during which we evaluate movement patterns and functionality, discuss health and fitness starting point as well as goals, take body composition measurements if client desires, and get in a short workout. From there, our trainers develop a personalized fitness and nutrition plan for each client.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Each trainer has a Certified Personal Trainer certification from one of the Nationally Accredited Institutions (e.g. NASM, ACE, NCSF, ISSA, etc.) as well as a nutrition certification. Each trainer also has other certifications including TRX Suspension, Precision Nutrition, Trigger Point, Kettlebells, Pre/Post Natal, Bulgarian Bags, and more.
