Nicky is awesome to work with. He’s motivating, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. I’ve only been training 7 months and my privates with Nicky have exponentially helped me attack the learning curve as a beginner. I highly recommend Nicky as a grappling/jiu jitsu coach. You won’t be disappointed.

I was new when I started Brazilian Jiujitsu at Serra and Nick helped me feel welcomed to this new experience. His stand up game is phenomenal and every lesson I take, I add a new skill to my arsenal. He is a wonderful instructor and I am looking forward to working with him in the future and years to come.

    Frequently asked questions

The key to reaching goals is communication. For this reason I like to be very thorough in understanding what my students want to obtain from our sessions. We will go over many self defense techniques as well as sport Jiu jitsu. Martial arts is a great way to stay active, healthy, get fit, and great for self confidence

I've been training wrestling/Jiu jitsu for almost 20 years now. Teaching was just a natural progression for me

Being at a news gym has really put me on the map with instruction. I've gotten to work with children as young as 3 as well as grown men and women up to 70! An incredible experience to say the least.

Just recently I competed in the RISE invitational in westbury, Long Island. I was able to secure the victory via rear naked choke. Very fun night

Do your research, look to see where they train/teach. There are a lot of hokie schools out there not producing quality lesson plans

Be realistic about your goals. Nobody is going to become a world champion in a day. Understand that time, effort, and commitment are the keys to success, no matter what your goal is in this sport
