Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Our first class would be about getting to know you! I want to understand why you sought out yoga and what you are looking to achieve from it. There are so many types of yoga, I want to tailor your experience to what it is that you need. I would also take the time to give you and overview of the history of yoga to help you understand a bit about how Yoga became what it is today.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I received my 200 hour training in Chicago Illinois trough Core Powetle yoga in 2010. After my training I moved to Nashville, TN and worked closely with a teacher who specialized in spinal care yoga. She opened my eyes to the many therapeutic sides of yoga and inspired me to put my focus on alignment and specifically protecting the spine through yoga. Since my training I have continually taught and revived my E-RYT 200 certification through Yoga Alliance. These means “Experienced” Registered Yoga Teacher, or that I have taught over 1,000 hours.

What types of students have you worked with?
I’ve worked with many students who are brand new to yoga, I very much enjoy taking the time to break down the poses and concepts so they are easy to understand and hopefully less intimidating.
I can also work with advanced students and dig deeper into Yoga. I have taught teacher trainings and feel very comfortable to challenge a student who has been practicing for years.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are you looking to get out of yoga? Think about your needs. There are all different types of yoga from restorative to power. Do you want stress relief? Strength? Flexibility?
Yoga does all of these things, but I can tailor the class specifically to enhance these things more or less.
