About
I teach traditional Indian Yoga, which is safe for anyone. This is a therapeutic approach designed to activate the glands and detoxify the organs. I create a class plan designed to meet your needs and goals.
I love sharing the power of Yoga with those who aren't able to do vigorous American Yoga, or who want to start in the privacy of an individual lesson. When people progress and do things they couldn't do, or improve conditions they've struggle with, it's very satisfying.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I interview the client to find out what issues they want to work on and their current health. I then design a program to help them specifically. Traditional Yoga is safe for anyone, and honors the original purpose of Yoga to deepen the ability to sit in meditation, live a moral life and strengthen the body.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was trained by Ananda Marga, a self-realization and social service Yogic organization based in India. I am also a Health Coach, which informs my approach to teaching.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Classes in my home are $40 per hour. Lessons in your home are $50 per hour. I generally charge $80 for groups, depending on the size. I charge more for lessons outside of the Nashville area.
How did you get started teaching?
I was able to treat severe depression using the asanas of this system of Yoga, and wanted to share it with others.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with people with Multiple Sclerosis, hunchback, back pain, and cancer survivors. I also often work with people who want to learn the basics before taking a public class.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I advise avoiding American Yoga classes such as Power Yoga or hot Yoga as they can be dangerous and lead to repetitive motion disorder. Yoga traditionally isn't about achievement and showing off. It's for working on inner challenges and personal goals, and was never intended to be taught to large groups of people.
