About

I have been training for over 8 years and am brown belt in no gi brazilian jiu-jitsu, catch wrestler, purple belt in BJJ and brown belt in traditional sport judo. I am willing to meet at a training facility near you, your home, a facility I have available or my home.

I have been asissting in coaching one of the most dominants kids jiujitsu teams in the DFW for 6.5 years.

My son is a freshman Texas UIL 6A State Champion, 5x youth state wrestling and 5x youth state judo champion. He has also won a over hundred matches in brazilian jiu-jitsu tournaments and ranked #1 nationally by USA Judo 2014 and 2016

I am very attentative to detail and can help in various grappling arts ingetrating or specializing in each. I also have a strong knowledge of self-defense jiu-jitsu and grappling which is my base.

I also have several sons with varying age ranges and sizes that can be used as practice partners for a more tailored lesson.

I love the character development and seeing people reach their potentional in some of the toughest sports on Earth. It brings me lots of enjoyment to know I am having a positive impact on the community teaching a powerful martial art that helps people build confidence and trust in themselves.

Frequently asked questions

The typical process for working with a new student is evaluating their experience level and aligning a program with their goals.

Overall timeline and expectations for reaching the goals are discussed and a curriculum is accomodated.

Instructed and coached students from the ages of 5 years old to 18 for approximatedly 7 years in one of the longest running jiujitsu/judo programs in the DFW.

Standard pricing is dependent on travel distance for home lessons, for a group or lessons given at a local jiujitsu school in Arlington, TX.

I started teaching 3 years after my son started training once I received my blue belt so I could have experience in the situations he was addressing.

I have worked with both youth and adult students, male/female with varying experience levels, sizes, nationalities, religions, income and mental/physical disabilites.

The most recent event I am fond of is watching my son compete in the inagural National Wrestling Hall of Fame Duals which hosted the best teams in the country.

I had the opportunity to visit the Wrestling Hall of Fame Museum and attend a banquest held afterwards where the guest speakers were legendary wrestlers/coaches Kendall Cross and Coaches John Smith.

It was an amazing experience.

I would advise a student looking to hire an instructor to look at the quality of students that have been produced and make sure the teacher has a solid backround with a gym they trained at from the ground up.

Questions that a student should think through before talking to teachers about their needs would be:

How long would it take for the instructor to help reach their goals?

Does the instructor have coaching credentials?

Would the instructor be able to provide a contact list of referrals from their home gyms and previous students?

Would the teacher be able to provide certificates of their martial arts rank?

How many students is the teaching coaching currently?
